About Mukwonago
Mukwonago is a village straddling Waukesha and Walworth counties in Wisconsin, situated at the southwestern edge of the Vernon Marsh. Developed on the site of a historic Potawatomi village, the community of approximately 8,400 takes its name from a native word meaning bear's den. The neighborhood surrounds Upper and Lower Phantom lakes along the Mukwonago River and is served by public schools including Mukwonago High School.
