About Murrells Inlet

Murrells Inlet is an unincorporated coastal community in Georgetown County, just south of Myrtle Beach. Long before restaurants and marinas, shell mounds and archaeological finds showed Indigenous life from the Atlantic coast toward the Waccamaw River. Today Murrells Inlet is known for seafood, marsh views, fishing, and a more relaxed coastal feel than the busier Grand Strand. It feels salty, scenic, and social, with boats, birds, oyster roast energy, and the marsh doing much of the work.
