About Mystic

Mystic is a village and census-designated place spanning the towns of Groton and Stonington in New London County, Connecticut, situated on the Mystic River. A significant shipbuilding and seaport community, more than six hundred ships were built in Mystic over 135 years beginning in 1784. The village is home to Mystic Seaport Museum, the largest maritime museum in the United States, which preserves historic vessels including the whaling ship Charles W. Morgan.
