Because local service borders overlap, a Nanuet mailing address does not always mean a home falls within the Nanuet School District or qualifies for every local park pass. Always double-check the school boundaries and tax records for any property you tour. Commuters will appreciate having Clarkstown's only train station right in town. Riding the Pascack Valley Line into Manhattan requires a quick transfer at Secaucus, typically taking around an hour and twenty minutes to reach Penn Station. Nanuet grew up around its 19th-century rail stop, taking its name from Munsee leader Nannawitt, and train connectivity still plays a big role in the area. The hamlet has two distinct sides.
