About Nashua

Nashua is an Iowa city split between Chickasaw and Floyd Counties, named for Nashua, New Hampshire, the hometown of one of its founders. It incorporated in 1869, but the place’s best-known local landmark is older in the imagination than the city name: the Little Brown Church featured in The Church in the Wildwood sits here. Nashua–Plainfield schools now serve the area, after the Nashua and Plainfield districts merged in 1997. Nashua is a small Iowa city with a church known far beyond the county line, a two-county address, and a name borrowed from New England.
