About Neodesha

Neodesha is a Wilson County city between the Verdigris and Fall rivers, and its name comes from an Osage word meaning “where waters meet.” An Osage trading post took shape here in 1867, followed by a town survey in 1869. The city’s historical museum keeps that early Native and frontier story in view, while the two rivers still tell you more than a street sign can. Neodesha is southeast Kansas with a name that is really a map: two rivers, a trading post, and a town growing between them.
