About Netarts
Netarts is an unincorporated census-designated place on the north end of Netarts Bay, south of Oceanside and along the Three Capes coast. Netarts Spit separates the bay from the Pacific, while the community sits beside a shallow tidal estuary shaped by clamming, crabbing, boating, and shellfish habitat. Netarts Bay Landing is the main public access point; the regional coast association lists a boat ramp, day-use moorage, picnic tables, and restrooms there. Cape Lookout State Park lies across the bay and adds camping, hiking, and views toward the ocean.
Because Netarts is unincorporated, local civic life runs through county planning and community organizations. Tillamook County lists Netarts among its 12 unincorporated communities and records regular Netarts Community Association meetings at the fire station. The community group’s site describes improvements to Netarts Community Park and a boat-basin nature park and public gathering place under consideration. Residents’ routines are consequently tied to the bay, county services, the fire station and community club, and nearby coastal towns such as Oceanside and Tillamook.
