New Auburn, WI

New Auburn is a quiet village of around 550 residents straddling the border of Chippewa and Barron counties in northwestern Wisconsin. Located right along Highway 53, it offers a peaceful rural setting with an easy commute to regional hubs, sitting about 35 miles north of Eau Claire and 30 miles south of Rice Lake. Everyday life here is unhurried, centered around open farmland, local spots, and a close-knit community school.

The surrounding landscape provides plenty of outdoor recreation throughout the seasons. Nearby lakes, the New Auburn Wildlife Area, and the Chippewa Moraine offer great spots for fishing, hunting, camping, and hiking along the Ice Age National Scenic Trail, while winter brings steady snowmobile and ice fishing traffic.
