New Bedford, PA

New Bedford is a Lawrence County census-designated place in western Pulaski Township, right along the Ohio state line. The 2010 census counted 925 residents. U.S. 422 forms the southern edge, leading about ten miles southeast to New Castle and eight miles west to Youngstown, Ohio. PA 208 and PA 551 connect the community to surrounding farm roads and Shenango Valley routes. Water drains toward Deer Creek and the Shenango River on one side, and Coffee Run and the Mahoning River on the other.

The state line is part of New Bedford’s everyday geography: Ohio is a short drive west, New Castle is the county-seat connection, and the highways carry traffic across both. The community is unincorporated, so township and county services cover a place made up of homes, farms, roads, and creek valleys, with no separate municipal downtown.
