New Canaan, CT

New Canaan is a Fairfield County town known for architecture, affluent residential neighborhoods, and a village-like center within commuting distance of New York City. Its colonial roots go back to 1731, when Canaan Parish was established in parts of Norwalk and Stamford. The town later became especially associated with modern residential architecture, including the Glass House and other midcentury design work.
