Newdale, ID

Newdale is a small Fremont County city in the Rexburg micropolitan area. The 2020 census counted 337 residents. It began as the Village of Newdale in 1917 and became an incorporated city in 1967, and the city's own history page still points to the pieces that made the place: an old school, an opera house, a train depot, a water tower, and a Teton River aqueduct. Those are not just archival labels; they make clear why Newdale reads as a compact settlement built around transport, water, and shared civic spaces.

These days the local center is practical and small-town. Sam Schwendiman Park is available for gatherings, picnics, meetings, and family events, and the city maintains park facilities for residents rather than treating them as an afterthought. Students are part of Sugar-Salem School District, whose campuses serve the surrounding communities. Newdale's appeal is in the way its older landmarks and current routines sit on top of each other: the train depot and aqueduct belong to the town's memory, while the park, city services, and school district keep the place connected to the present.
