Niangua, MO

Niangua is a city in Webster County, Missouri, United States. The 2020 census counted 390 residents. Niangua is part of the Springfield, Missouri Metropolitan Statistical Area. The first settlement was made at Niangua prior to the Civil War. That mix gives Niangua a clear local shape within Missouri, with older layers still visible in current places. The local scoop is a place whose streets, landmarks, and institutions keep its earlier story close to the present. A post office called Niangua has been in operation since 1870. Niangua lies three miles from Interstate 44 and five miles north of Marshfield. The community takes its name from the nearby Niangua River.
