Nondalton, AK

Set along the western shore of Six Mile Lake, Nondalton is a small Dena'ina Athabascan village surrounded by the rugged waterways of southwest Alaska. Its name translates to "lake after lake," reflecting the chain of waters that shape daily routines, from salmon fishing and berry picking to boating over to Lake Clark. Like many bush communities, Nondalton is off the road system and relies on small planes, boats, and snowmachines to get around.
