Nordic, WY

Nordic is a quiet rural community in Wyoming's Star Valley, set along U.S. Route 89 roughly seven miles south of Alpine. Home to a few hundred people, it offers plenty of elbow room against a backdrop of open fields and rugged mountain ridges. Highway 89 serves as the main route through the area, giving residents a straightforward drive north toward Palisades Reservoir and Jackson or south to other valley towns.

Like much of northern Lincoln County, Nordic relies on a close network of neighboring communities for everyday services. Local students attend Lincoln County School District 2, with campuses distributed throughout Star Valley from Alpine to Afton. That setup gives Nordic the feel of a peaceful residential pocket where neighbors enjoy wide-open space, easy access to outdoor recreation, and a simple commute to nearby towns for groceries, dining, and community gatherings.
