Norris, SD

Norris is a small, quiet community of around 150 residents set in the open prairie of western Mellette County, South Dakota. Founded in the early 1900s, the town originally grew around the old Pioneer Store and its first postmaster, Chub Putnam, serving as a handy gathering and trading spot for nearby ranchers and homesteaders. Today, Norris offers plenty of wide-open space, big skies, and the relaxed, close-knit atmosphere typical of rural Great Plains living.
