North Bend, OH

North Bend is a Hamilton County village along the Ohio River in Greater Cincinnati, with 835 residents in the 2020 census. John Cleves Symmes settled the place in 1789 and first laid it out as Symmes City; the river bend supplied the name that stuck. North Bend is also where William Henry Harrison made his home and where his grandson, Benjamin Harrison, was born - an unusually concentrated presidential connection for a village of this size. The William Henry Harrison Tomb sits on Mt. Nebo above the river, with views toward Ohio, Indiana, and Kentucky; the tomb and nearby Congress Green Cemetery keep the Harrison-Symmes story attached to the hillside. The memorial is open in daylight, and the Harrison-Symmes Museum adds local context.
