About North Druid Hills

North Druid Hills is threaded by a public trail corridor that joins a county park, a library, nearby neighborhoods, and Emory University. At Mason Mill, the South Peachtree Creek PATH and boardwalk cross a wooded creek landscape, while maintained side trails reach Medlock and Ira B. Melton parks. The county trail map measures the route from Mason Mill to North Druid Hills Road at 0.8 mile and the connection toward Emory at 0.6 mile. Mason Mill itself is a 116-acre regional park containing a recreation center, senior center, playgrounds, community garden, dog park, and DeKalb Tennis Center. The tennis complex currently has 16 hard courts, 10 of which can be converted for pickleball. The CDP covers 4.5 square miles and had 20,385 residents in the 2020 census.

North Druid Hills

Nearby Emory broadens daily and cultural activity beyond the park system. Its 600-acre Atlanta campus in historic Druid Hills houses Emory College and seven graduate and professional schools. The university identifies the Michael C. Carlos Museum, Arts at Emory, the Emory Farmers Market, Lullwater Estate, library exhibitions, and the Schwartz Center for Performing Arts as resources open to the wider community. On Clairmont Road, the Annunciation Greek Orthodox Cathedral provides another distinctive institution. The cathedral is part of the Metropolis of Atlanta and hosts the annual Atlanta Greek Festival; the 2025 festival marked 50 years with music, dancing, food, a market, and cathedral tours. Trails, recreation facilities, university spaces, and a long-running cultural festival give residents several concrete centers of community activity.
