North Ogden, UT

Ben Lomond rises directly east of North Ogden, where the city reaches the foot of the Wasatch Range three miles north of Ogden. North Ogden Canyon Road climbs to the Divide, where the Skyline Trail runs north toward Ben Lomond and south along the ridge; Trails Foundation Northern Utah describes the standard Ben Lomond route from the Divide as a 15-mile round trip. Lower on the west side, North Ogden Lookout trailhead begins a 2.4-mile moderate section of the Bonneville Shoreline Trail toward Coldwater Canyon. Shoshone people lived in this part of the Wasatch Front before cattle ranchers from Ogden wintered here in 1850. North Ogden had 20,916 residents in 2020, and a city land-use survey that year found residential property accounted for 61 percent of urbanized land.

Local gathering places are spread along 2600 North and through city parks. Weber County Library's North Branch at 475 East 2600 North provides meeting rooms, public computers and Wi-Fi, a natural-history exhibit, technical help, and a ballot drop box. In 2026 it hosted the county's America Reads tutoring program and children's and teen summer reading. North Shore Aquatic Center remained in city operation for the 2026 season, with a waterslide, diving boards, splash pad, play structure, lazy river, and beach-style entry. Barker Park contains an outdoor amphitheater intended for concerts, theater, readings, lectures, and other community performances. Cherry Days is organized around Independence Day; the 2026 celebration used North Ogden Park and Barker Park for a parade, car show, carnival, vendors, live entertainment, and fireworks.
