Norwood, OK

Norwood is a Cherokee and Muskogee County census-designated place with 1,679 residents in the 2020 census, spread across the western edge of Cherokee County and into Muskogee County. The Arkansas River lies about two miles west, and Woodall borders the community to the southeast. This is a broad rural place rather than a compact town center, with roads and homes scattered across an area of more than 32 square miles. Norwood sits in eastern Oklahoma’s Cherokee Nation region, with nearby towns providing the larger service network.

The community shares postal routes with Fort Gibson, Hulbert, and Tahlequah, which gives a sense of how residents move through the area.
