Norwood Young America, MN

Located about 40 miles west of Minneapolis in Carver County, Norwood Young America (often shortened to NYA) is a welcoming small town of roughly 4,000 residents. The community was formed in 1997 when the neighboring nineteenth-century towns of Norwood and Young America officially merged. Thanks to that history, residents enjoy a unique double-downtown layout, with two historic main streets featuring local businesses, churches, and quiet residential avenues. Direct access to Highway 212 keeps the commute into the Twin Cities straightforward while preserving a peaceful, rural atmosphere.

Day-to-day life revolves around local parks, neighborhood gatherings, and the Central Public School District, which serves the town and surrounding farm country. The community's biggest event is Stiftungsfest, Minnesota's oldest continuous town festival, held every August with traditional German food, live music, softball tournaments, and a massive parade.
