Waconia, MN

Waconia is a Carver County city west of Minneapolis, named for nearby Lake Waconia. A post office has operated there since 1860, and the lake remains the city's strongest everyday feature, drawing residents and visitors for boating, fishing, parks, and seasonal recreation. Waconia has grown with the western Twin Cities suburbs, but it still feels more like a lake town than a purely commuter-driven place. Its downtown, schools, and lakeshore setting give it a distinct identity within the expanding metro edge.
