Nowthen is a quiet, spacious community in northwestern Anoka County, home to roughly 4,500 residents who value a peaceful, rural atmosphere. Though the area was originally founded as Burns Township in 1869, locals officially incorporated as the city of Nowthen in 2008 to preserve their open spaces and distinct local identity.
