About Oceanside

Oceanside is a Tillamook County coastal community where Oregon Route 131 ends at the Pacific, just north of Netarts. The Rosenberg brothers named and platted the place in 1922 after buying land from farmer John W. Maxwell; a dance hall, store, and plank road helped turn the beach into a small resort community. Three Arch Rocks offshore became a National Wildlife Refuge in 1907 after photographers documented the seabird colonies. Oceanside is an Oregon beach town with a steep hillside, a tunnel through Maxwell Point, and protected rocks just offshore.
