About Odon
Odon is a Daviess County town that has changed names once already. John Hastings laid it out as Clarksburg in 1846; the town became Odon in 1880 and incorporated five years later. North Daviess Community Schools serves the area, while the Odon Winklepleck Public Library on West Main Street gives the town a named civic stop of its own. The local map is still compact - Madison Township roads, the school, and Main Street doing most of the orientation - but Odon's name carries a little frontier-era reset in it. It is the kind of southern Indiana town where a library, a school, and an old name change tell the story better than a long list of attractions.
