Ojai, CA

Ojai is a small Ventura County city set in the Ojai Valley, known for boutique hotels, hiking, recreation, and a slower inland California feel. Its setting near the Topatopa Mountains gives the town much of its appeal, especially for people drawn to trails, retreats, and artsy small-town life. Ojai's history includes Spanish colonization of the California coast and later oil exploration around the Ojai Basin and Sulphur Mountain. Today it reads as a distinctive valley town, close to Ventura but very much its own place.
