About Olivet

Located in Vermilion County just south of Georgetown, Olivet is a tiny, peaceful community surrounded by quiet Illinois farmland. It is home to a few hundred residents who enjoy wide-open spaces and rural living. The village is most famous for being the original home of Olivet Nazarene University, which was founded here in the early 1900s before a 1939 campus fire prompted a move north to Bourbonnais. Today, it remains a calm, historic spot where neighbors appreciate the quiet countryside.
