About Oreland

Oreland is a census-designated place in Montgomery County, Pennsylvania, spanning portions of Springfield and Upper Dublin townships adjacent to the Philadelphia neighborhoods of Chestnut Hill and Mount Airy. Settled as one of William Penn's original manors, the community of approximately 6,000 has colonial roots dating to 1686 when Thomas Fitzwater discovered lime deposits on his land. Public education is administered by the Springfield Township School District and the Colonial School District.
