About Osage

Osage is a tiny, quiet community in northeastern Wyoming's Weston County, situated along Highway 16 about fifteen miles northwest of Newcastle. Home to around 150 people, the town got its start in the early 1900s as a railroad stop and oil boomtown, later supported by regional bentonite mining. Today, Osage offers wide-open prairie views and peaceful rural living under big western skies. Residents enjoy a relaxed pace and plenty of elbow room, heading into nearby Newcastle for schools, groceries, and everyday services.
