About Osceola
Osceola is a historic city and a dual county seat of Mississippi County, Arkansas, situated along the Mississippi River in the fertile Arkansas Delta. Founded in 1837, the riverfront settlement thrived during the nineteenth century due to active steamboat commerce. Historically, the Civil War Battle of Plum Point Bend was fought nearby, and today the city's eastern boundary is formed by the protective river levee. Public education is provided by the Osceola School District.
