Osprey is a small Sarasota County community between Sarasota and Venice, set close to the bays, preserves, and barrier-island beaches of Florida's Gulf Coast. Its best-known local landmark is Historic Spanish Point, a waterfront site with archaeological, pioneer, and garden history. Osprey is not a large city with a traditional downtown; it is more of a coastal residential place, with access to nearby parks, marinas, restaurants, and the larger Sarasota cultural scene.
