About Ottoville
Ottoville is a Putnam County village whose first town plat did not take the first time. John Otto Bredeich laid out the site in 1845, but the effort stalled; the town was platted again in 1873, and Ottoville finally got its lasting shape. That start-and-restart story is the best local handle. The village now has Ottoville Local Schools, including an elementary school and high school, plus a branch of the Putnam County District Library. Ottoville is northwest Ohio with a town name tied to John Otto Bredeich, a second chance on its plat, and school and library services in the village.
