Park City, KY

Park City sits in Barren County at the road-and-rail gateway to Mammoth Cave country. The present city grew around Three Forks and Bell's Station, where roads to Glasgow and Bardstown met the Louisville and Nashville Pike. The L&N arrived in 1859, a Glasgow spur followed in 1863, and the junction became a transportation point for travelers headed toward the caves. The city was platted and incorporated in 1871, then adopted the name Park City in 1938.

That cave connection is still the town's clearest calling card. Park City is the direct I-65 approach to Mammoth Cave National Park and sits by Diamond Caverns, while US 31W runs through the center and CSX tracks still pass through. The old Mammoth Cave Railroad route has been reshaped into a roughly nine-mile trail, giving the historic rail corridor a new life for walkers and cyclists. Park City Elementary serves as the local elementary campus within Barren County Schools, with older students heading to campuses in Glasgow.
