Park Hills, MO

Located in the heart of Missouri's historic Lead Belt, Park Hills offers a relaxed, small-town lifestyle about an hour south of St. Louis. Home to around 8,500 residents, the city came together in the 1990s when four historic mining towns (Flat River, Elvins, Esther, and Rivermines) merged into one. That unique setup gives the community several distinct neighborhoods, each with its own character. U.S. Route 67 runs right along the edge of town, making it easy for commuters to reach nearby Farmington or head north toward the metro area for work and shopping.

Outdoor enthusiasts have plenty to love here, starting right next door at St. Joe State Park. The park is one of Missouri's top spots for off-roading, with expansive trails for ATVs, dirt bikes, horseback riding, and hiking. Families are served by the Central R-III school district, while Mineral Area College provides higher education and technical training close to home. Between everyday gathering spots like Columbia Park and easy weekend trips to Ozark gems like Elephant Rocks and Johnson's Shut-Ins, Park Hills makes an affordable, down-to-earth home base.
