About Parma

State Road and Ridge Road carry two of Parma's most visible cultural and commercial districts. Ukrainian Village follows State Road between Tuxedo Avenue and Flatwood Drive; established in 2009, it joins homes and businesses under a district organization focused on Ukrainian American heritage and economic development. Polish Village runs along Ridge Road from Pearl Road to Thornton Avenue, where restaurants and food shops share the corridor with recurring public events. In May 2026, the Polish Constitution Day celebration marked its 76th year with a church service, parade, and festival on Ridge Road. The city calendar also scheduled a multiday Polish Village garage sale and an August Ukrainian Village parade and festival. These districts continue an immigrant history within a city that grew rapidly after World War II. Public recreation ranges from neighborhood facilities to a regional natural area.

Parma's 2026 program guide counted 18 municipal parks, with swimming, ice skating, pickleball, disc golf, sports leagues, and summer concerts distributed among them. The century-old Ridgewood municipal golf course completed a new clubhouse and event center in 2025. At West Creek Reservation, Cleveland Metroparks preserves nearly 600 acres of forested ravines, floodplain, wetlands, and upland around an urban watershed. Its all-purpose and loop trails meet the Watershed Stewardship Center, where public and school programs use working stormwater features as teaching tools. The Parma-Snow branch of Cuyahoga County Public Library adds another civic venue: its Sari Feldman Auditorium hosts performances, recitals, talks, and meetings. Its Innovation Center lists 3D printing, a CNC router, and other fabrication tools, although the branch scheduled the room to close for a refresh beginning August 1, 2026.
