Pavilion, NY

Pavilion is a census-designated place and hamlet within the Town of Pavilion in Genesee County, New York, with 664 residents in the 2020 census. It sits at the meeting of New York Routes 19 and 63, a compact crossroads in the town’s rolling farm country. Oatka Creek runs through the local map, flowing north toward the Genesee River, while Le Roy, Batavia, and Geneseo shape the nearby regional connections. The CDP follows the hamlet’s built-up center, while the Town of Pavilion extends across a much larger rural area.

Pavilion’s town history reaches back to an 1841 founding, but the CDP’s character is more immediate: a small main-street cluster, crossroads traffic, nearby fields, and a creek valley. Route 19 runs north toward Le Roy and south toward Warsaw; Route 63 connects west toward Batavia and southeast toward Geneseo. The hamlet shares its name and civic setting with the surrounding town, yet its everyday scale is closer to a village center than a whole town.
