Pawnee, OK

Pawnee is the seat of Pawnee County at the junction of U.S. 64 and State Highway 18, northeast of Stillwater. The town grew alongside the Pawnee Agency after the Pawnee Nation came to this part of Indian Territory in the 1870s. A post office followed in 1876, the county courthouse was built in 1895, and Pawnee became a first-class city in 1908.
