About Peeples Valley
Peeples Valley is a Yavapai County census-designated place named for prospector A. H. Peeples, one of the men who discovered the Rich Hill gold deposit near Weaver in 1863. The valley sits in the high country north of Wickenburg, with Model Creek School serving younger students before they continue to Prescott High School. Its post office opened around 1927 and later moved to Yarnell Heights while keeping the Peeples Valley name. Peeples Valley is central Arizona with a gold-rush namesake, a schoolhouse, and a postmark that outlived its original address.
