About Pikesville

Pikesville is a Baltimore County census-designated place immediately northwest of Baltimore’s city limits. Its population was 30,764 in 2010. Interstate 795 links Pikesville, Owings Mills, and Reisterstown with the Baltimore Beltway. The community was named for American soldier and explorer Zebulon Pike; although many places in other states also honor Pike, the Maryland suburb is the only contemporary community using the exact name Pikesville.
