Piltzville, MT

Tucked into the Clark Fork valley just east of Missoula and right next to Bonner, Piltzville started out as a neighborhood for workers at the local lumber mill. It takes its name from Billy Piltz, a Maine native who moved out west to work as the mill's yard boss in the early 1900s. Back then, his wife ran a small general store out of the first floor of their family home, and early residents carved out gardens along the valley floor. That humble, blue-collar heritage still shapes the character of the community today.

Today, Piltzville is a quiet residential enclave along the Clark Fork River where the Clark Fork and Blackfoot valleys meet. With Interstate 90 close by, residents enjoy an easy ten-minute drive into downtown Missoula while living surrounded by river access and mountain views. Families are served by Bonner School and Missoula's high school district, giving the area a friendly small-town feel.
