Pinal, AZ

Pinal is a Gila County census-designated place pressed against Globe, the county seat, in southeastern Arizona. Its name can trip up a map reader: this Pinal is in Gila County, not Pinal County. Globe's city limits surround the community on three sides, while the Pinal Mountains and the Globe–Miami mining region define the larger landscape. Silver and copper mining shaped Globe and the surrounding settlements, and the area remains part of Arizona's Copper Triangle. Pinal is best understood as a small settlement on Globe's edge, with the county seat, mountain range, and mining history meeting at its boundaries.
