About Pine Apple
Pine Apple is a town in Wilcox County, Alabama, incorporated in 1872 and originally called Friendship when it was laid out in 1825. The name was changed in 1852 to reflect the pine and apple groves near the town site. With a population of 143 at the 2020 census, the town has two entries on the National Register of Historic Places: the Hawthorne House and the Pine Apple Historic District. Local students are served by the Wilcox County School District and graduate from Wilcox Central High School.
