Selma, AL

Selma is a city and the county seat of Dallas County, located in south-central Alabama on the banks of the Alabama River. Historically a major Confederate manufacturing center during the Civil War, the city is globally recognized for its role in the 1960s civil rights movement, serving as the starting point for the Selma to Montgomery marches. Selma hosts several cultural destinations, including Sturdivant Hall and the National Voting Rights Museum. It is home to Selma University and Wallace Community College Selma.
