About Plano

Plano is a city in Kendall County, Illinois, located fifty-five miles southwest of Chicago. Historically developed as a manufacturing hub for the Plano Harvester Company and the Plano Molding Company, the community of approximately 12,200 is also famous for serving as the filming location for Kent's hometown in the 2013 film Man of Steel. The city hosts a satellite campus of Waubonsee Community College and borders Silver Springs State Park.
