Plantersville, MS

Plantersville is a Lee County town that began as a farming community and grew when the Kansas City, Memphis, and Birmingham Railroad and Mississippi Highway 6 reached the area. The 2020 census counted 868 residents. The highway drew commercial activity, the railroad corridor encouraged industry, and homes filled the space between them. That pattern still gives Plantersville an easy-to-read layout: road-facing businesses, a rail line, and residential streets spread through the town.

Plantersville maintains its own police, fire, public works, and municipal justice departments. The town's City Hall handles local business, while the renovated community center gives residents a place for gatherings and family events. Lee County schools serve the town, and the larger Tupelo area is close enough to widen the region's work and shopping connections. Plantersville has kept the scale of a small Mississippi town while adding the municipal services and shared spaces that let residents handle much of daily life close to home for residents and visitors alike.
