Pleasant Hill, NC

Pleasant Hill is a Wilkes County census-designated place beside Elkin in the North Carolina foothills. The 2020 census counted 831 people in about 2.6 square miles at roughly 1,125 feet. The community sits near the Yadkin River and Little Elkin Creek, with NC 268 and local roads tying it to Elkin, Wilkesboro, and the broader foothill corridor. In 1986, the General Assembly approved a charter for a Town of Pleasant Hill and laid out a proposed mayor-and-commissioner government; the place is now tracked as a CDP instead of a separate incorporated town.
