About Pleasant Plains
Pleasant Plains is a small town in Independence County, Arkansas, with a population in the few hundreds. Its most interesting historical thread is the Southwest Trail, the early route used by many travelers entering Arkansas in the 1800s, which passed through the area along what is now U.S. Highway 167. Public school students are served by the Midland School District. Pleasant Plains is residential today, but it sits on a route with real territorial-era history.
