About Plymouth
Plymouth is a village with one foot in Huron County and the other in Richland County, so the county line is part of daily geography rather than a detail on a map. The first settler arrived along the military road in 1815, the community grew as Paris, and the name changed to Plymouth in 1838 after Ohio collected too many Parises. East Main Street becomes West Broadway across the village, while Base Line Road marks the broader county-line landscape. Plymouth–Shiloh schools and Mary Fate Park sit in the local mix. Plymouth is a small Ohio village whose history and present-day errands both cross a county boundary.
