About Pocahontas

Pocahontas is a city and the county seat of Randolph County, Arkansas, situated along the scenic Black River. Named in honor of the famous historical Native American figure, the town features a statue of her in Overlook Park. The city preserves several historic landmarks, including the 1871 Old Randolph County Courthouse and the Eddie Mae Herron Center, housed in a historic 1918 school building. The community is served by the Pocahontas School District.
