Point of Rocks is an unincorporated community and census-designated place in Frederick County, Maryland, situated along the Potomac River. Named for a rock formation on the adjacent Catoctin Mountain and historic as an early nineteenth-century canal and railroad terminus, the community of approximately 2,462 is served by the Frederick County Public Schools district.
