Point Reyes Station, CA

Point Reyes Station is a small, welcoming town in western Marin County at the southern end of Tomales Bay. With fewer than a thousand residents, it serves as the main commercial and social hub for the surrounding ranch country. Highway 1 runs right through the center of town, carrying a steady mix of local ranchers, neighborhood dogs, and weekend visitors heading into the Point Reyes National Seashore. The landscape around town is quiet and scenic, surrounded by open pastures, wooded ridges, and coastal water.

Daily life here centers on good food, open land, and a tight-knit community. Independent businesses line the walkable main street, including artisan bakeries, farm-fresh markets, a local bookstore, and the post office. Families are served by the rural Shoreline school district, which bus kids across the coast. Living here does mean adapting to rural realities.
